What we're building next

No vaporware, no "coming soon" that never comes. Every item below has a real status and a line about why it matters. We update this as we ship.

The publish-ready pipeline · our core promise

Live

Every file BookReady blesses passes the real print platforms, KDP, IngramSpark, B&N Press, Draft2Digital. This is what we do, and it's all live today.

Shipped
Interior PDF compliance scan
Upload a manuscript PDF → checked against all 4 platforms (dimensions, bleed, embedded fonts, DPI, ink coverage). Free to scan, $9 to auto-fix.
Shipped
Cover checker + auto-fix
Validates a finished cover (size, spine, bleed, CMYK, DPI, barcode area) and auto-converts to true PDF/X-1a via Ghostscript.
Shipped
Cover Builder, design → print-ready
Design a full-wrap cover in the browser and export true CMYK PDF/X-1a. Correct spine per paper stock, free stock photos, drag-anything layout, download on any device.
Shipped
Book Formatter
Manuscript → print-ready interior PDF + EPUB. Auto table of contents, front/back matter, drop caps, image handling, part dividers.
Shipped
ARC review service
Match your book with vetted readers, collect honest reviews, and show them off with a verified-reviews widget.
Shipped
Landing-page builder + universal link
Author landing pages with email capture, plus one universal book link (/u/<slug>) that routes readers to every retailer.
Pro / free · Build a page →
Shipped

Blog + SEO library
Honest, no-fluff guides for indie authors plus 20+ intent-targeted landing pages, all with FAQ schema for Google & AI answers.

Reliability & trust · "won't get rejected, and won't go down"

Live

The unglamorous work that makes the promise real: prove the files pass on the actual platforms, secure the money flows, and know the moment something breaks.

Shipped
Real-platform validation loop
A documented process to upload BookReady-generated covers & interiors to real KDP/IngramSpark and confirm zero rejections, the only true proof of "won't get rejected."
ongoing
Shipped
Cover Builder went truly print-ready
Replaced the old canvas tool with a real export path: full-wrap CMYK PDF/X-1a via Ghostscript, exact 2·trim + spine + 2·bleed geometry, and a paper-type selector so the spine matches white/cream/color.
weeks · Try it →
Shipped
Per-cover paywall + cross-device download
The $19 unlock is bound to the specific cover, survives the Stripe round-trip, sends a confirmation email, and the emailed link reloads your exact cover on any device.
shipped
Shipped
Payment / auth security audit
Closed a cluster of "trust-the-URL" holes on the checkout-success routes and locked down file deletion. A $9 receipt can no longer unlock a subscription or another customer's file.

Shipped
Error monitoring + uptime
Sentry captures every 500 with a stack trace and alerts us, plus uptime checks on /healthz. We learn about breakage from an alert, not a customer.

Shipped
Marketing capture that actually fires
Postmark transactional email, a day-1/4/9 welcome drip, and cart-abandonment recovery with a magic link back to the report, all deduped and idempotent.

Sell more, not just get accepted · the next chapter

Building & next

We're strong on "won't get rejected." The next push is the other half of a launch, helping the book get found and bought, plus the small quality wins that make every cover better.

Building
Low-res image guard in Cover Builder
Warn (before export) when a chosen stock or uploaded photo is under 300 DPI at the size it's placed, so authors never ship a soft, print-quality cover.

Next up
Keyword + BISAC + metadata helper
The "sell more" tool: category/keyword research and a metadata sheet (BISAC, blurb, A+) you can copy straight into KDP/Ingram. Our highest-value next build.
weeks
Next up
"Get publish-ready" launch bundle
Scan + cover + format as one packaged flow instead of three separate à-la-carte buys, a clearer path from free scan to a finished book.

Cover Builder power features
Mood palettes, more templates, and layer ordering, bring the new studio up to (and past) the old tool's flexibility.

Things we won't build (use these instead)

Our rule: own the publish-ready file pipeline; partner for everything else.

We're a one-stop shop, not the only shop. If a step isn't the file or moment that gets a book accepted for print, and someone already does it far better, we integrate instead of building a weak clone. See /integrations for the full vetted list.

Manuscript writing / editor
Atticus & Scrivener have a multi-year head start and huge user bases. We integrate via DOCX import instead of competing.
→ Atticus, Scrivener
Developmental & copy editing
A human craft with a vetted marketplace already built. We refer with affiliate revenue.
→ Reedsy
AI blurb / description writer
A generic LLM blurb generator wouldn't beat Claude/ChatGPT at the same prompt. Skipping until we have a real edge (genre-tuned data).
→ Claude / ChatGPT
Audiobook production / narration
ACX and Findaway own this. We'll add a file-compliance check (Later) but won't run a narrator marketplace.
→ ACX, Findaway
Ad management
Amazon/Meta ad tools + agencies own this. We help by surfacing the metadata that makes ad copy better.
→ Amazon Ads, ad tools
Direct-sales storefront (signed copies)
Payhip + Bookvault solve this in a week of setup. We'd need a year for a worse version.
→ Payhip + Bookvault
Email marketing platform
We capture emails and push them to the tools authors already use, we don't try to be their ESP.
→ ConvertKit, MailerLite
Native mobile app
The PWA covers ~90% of mobile use. Native is a second codebase + app-store fees + maintenance for little gain.
→ Install the PWA
