BookReady ("we," "us," or "the Service") is operated at www.bookready.net by Reveal The Veil. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can get it deleted. We try to be honest to a fault here — if anything is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
We use these vendors to operate the Service. Each one is bound by their own privacy policy and processes only the data needed for their specific function:
Every PDF you upload is permanently and automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of upload. The output files we generate for you (scan reports, fixed covers, exported books) are deleted within 24 hours of you downloading them, or within 7 days if not downloaded.
ARC campaign manuscripts are deleted within 24 hours of the campaign reaching its review deadline.
Book Formatter: the formatter runs in your browser — your manuscript is imported, typeset, and paginated on your own device and saved in your browser's local storage. We do not upload or store your manuscript on our servers. When you unlock clean exports ($59, one-time), we store only your purchase email and license record (to honor the unlock across your devices); your book text stays on your device.
If you'd like a file deleted sooner than the automatic schedule, email [email protected] with the order or scan ID and we'll delete it within 24 hours of your request.
Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights regarding your data:
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request" and we'll respond within 30 days (most requests are handled the same day).
We use three categories of cookies. None require third-party consent banners because they're either essential or anonymized:
br_pro_email, br_free_email) — HMAC-signed cookies that keep you signed in. Without these, the Service doesn't function.You can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the "essential" group will prevent sign-in.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your full card number, CVV, or PIN. Stripe stores this data under PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance. We retain transaction records (date, amount, product, your email) for tax and fraud-prevention purposes for 7 years, as required by US law.
The Service is operated from the United States. By using BookReady, you consent to your data being processed in the US. Our vendors (Stripe, Google, Meta, Render, Cloudflare) operate global infrastructure and may process data in the EU, UK, or other regions; all rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.
BookReady is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them. If you believe a child has submitted data through the Service, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.
All connections to BookReady use TLS 1.2 or higher. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to the operator account; no third-party staff have access to your files or data.
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where required, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
