Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: June 25, 2026
You have the right to request deletion of any data BookReady holds about you. This page explains exactly how to do it and how quickly we'll respond.
What data BookReady holds
Depending on how you've used the Service, we may hold some or all of the following:
- Your email address (if you've subscribed, purchased a scan, or submitted an ARC campaign)
- Your Stripe customer ID and subscription record (if you've paid for Pro)
- Output files from scans, covers, or page-builder exports (auto-deleted within 24 hours of download, or 7 days if not downloaded)
- Server logs with your IP address and request paths (auto-rotated after 30 days)
If you've used BookReady only without signing in or paying, we hold no personally identifying data beyond standard server logs.
How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] with the subject line
Data Deletion Request.
- Include the email address associated with your BookReady account (or the email you used at checkout).
- Tell us what to delete: everything, or specific items (e.g. "delete my Pro account" or "delete the scan from June 10").
What happens next
- We confirm receipt of your request within 24 hours (usually within an hour during business days, US Eastern).
- We delete all data you've requested, and any related records held by our processors that we can flag for deletion (Stripe, Postmark).
- We confirm the deletion by email. Total turnaround is almost always under 7 days; the regulatory maximum is 30 days.
What we cannot delete
A small set of records are legally required to be retained:
- Tax records of past purchases — retained for 7 years per US tax law. After deletion, your name and email are removed; only the order ID, amount, and date remain in our financial records.
- Anonymized aggregated analytics — these no longer identify you and are not subject to deletion.
Meta/Facebook data
BookReady uses the Meta Marketing API to manage its own paid advertising — we do not collect data from your Facebook account, do not use Facebook Login, and do not store Facebook user IDs from end users. If you arrived here from Meta's app dashboard, this page is provided to satisfy Meta's Data Deletion Instructions URL requirement. Practically: we hold no Meta-derived data about end users to delete.
