These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BookReady, operated by Reveal The Veil ("BookReady," "we," "us"), at www.bookready.net. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
BookReady is an automated PDF compliance checking, cover building, manuscript formatting, page building, and ARC distribution service for indie authors and book formatters. We provide free and paid tiers (BookReady Pro, ARC campaigns, single-scan purchases, cover downloads, and a one-time formatter unlock).
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with a parent or legal guardian's consent. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
Some paid features (BookReady Pro, the Page Builder, ARC campaigns) sign you in via a one-time link sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping that email account secure. Anyone with access to your email can request a sign-in link for your BookReady account. We are not responsible for unauthorized access caused by compromise of your email.
BookReady checks your file against known platform requirements (KDP, IngramSpark, B&N Press, Draft2Digital, and others). We use our best efforts to keep these checks accurate, but we do not guarantee acceptance by any third-party platform. Distributor specs change without notice; a file that passes our scanner today may fail tomorrow if the platform changes its rules.
BookReady is independent and not affiliated with IngramSpark, B&N Press, KDP, KDP Print, Draft2Digital, Amazon, Apple, Kobo, or any other distributor or platform. Mentions of those services are descriptive only.
You retain all ownership and intellectual-property rights in the manuscripts, covers, page content, and other files you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant BookReady a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access, process, store, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. This license terminates automatically when we delete Your Content under our retention schedule (see Section 9) or upon your deletion request, whichever is sooner.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. We do not share Your Content with third parties except service providers strictly necessary to deliver the Service (see our Privacy Policy).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Egregious violations (illegal content, attempts to compromise the Service) may also be reported to law enforcement.
All uploaded files and processed outputs are permanently deleted within 24 hours of upload (outputs are deleted within 24 hours of your download, or 7 days if not downloaded). Server logs are rotated after 30 days. Transaction records (date, amount, product, your email) are retained for 7 years to comply with US tax law. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

If you experience a technical error preventing delivery on any product, contact us and we will reprocess at no charge or issue a full refund, your choice. All refund requests are processed within 5 business days via the original payment method.
We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to valid notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To submit a notice, email [email protected] with the subject line DMCA Notice and include: (a) a description of the copyrighted work, (b) the URL or scan ID of the allegedly infringing content, (c) your contact info, (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act, and (f) your physical or electronic signature. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
The Service may link to third-party websites or rely on third-party services (Stripe, Postmark, Google Analytics, Meta, Render, Cloudflare — see our Privacy Policy). We are not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of any third party.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. Where reasonable, we'll notify Pro subscribers before discontinuing paid features.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your data per our Data Deletion Instructions. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or for legal or operational reasons. We will refund any pre-paid amounts for unused service periods if termination is initiated by us for reasons other than your breach.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that scan results will be accurate or complete. You use the Service at your own risk.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOOKREADY AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BookReady, its operators, and its service providers from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) Your Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to jurisdiction and venue there. If you live outside the United States, mandatory consumer-protection rights in your jurisdiction still apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Instructions, constitute the entire agreement between you and BookReady regarding the Service.
